Things to Carry on a Long Road Trip in Your Rental Car

Preparing for a long trip is not an easy task. It requires a lot of planning and decisions about what to carry and what not. Thus, in this article, we help you make it easier by suggesting a list of things you should carry in the trunks of your luxury cars as they might be needed on the road. 

First Aid Kit

The first aid box is one of the necessary items that should always be there in the car, with some general medicines, bandages, and antiseptic liquid. Any missing medications must be purchased. If there are children or elderly people in the car, then they must have their own medicines allowed in the host country.

Fire Extinguisher

Make sure to keep the extinguishing agent in the car, and it must not be expired. Before the trip, check the dates, and if it is expired then fill the fire extinguisher with a new mixture.

Warning Sign and Tow Rope

Without these items, you can not go on the road. The sign will be needed in the event of an accident, and a cable for towing the car in the event of an accident.

Reflective Vest

It will be needed when stopping on the roadway at night. If you stop on the highway at night to check the condition of the car, ensure to put on this reflective vest.

Repair Kit

Tools

The list of tools that should be there in the toolbox includes wrenches, screwdrivers, a set of clamps, electrical tape, a jack, a compressor or a foot pump for tire inflation, a pressure gauge for measuring pressure in the chambers, and a shovel for a car.

Power Bank

An external battery is needed to charge a smartphone, laptop, or camera. You can also charge devices from the onboard network of the car, but this is an additional load on the battery.

Navigation System

The navigation system must work not only from data transfer but also without an internet connection. It can be an onboard computer of a car, a regular navigator, or a smartphone. 

Auto Box

This item will be needed if you are taking a large number of personal stuff with you. The plastic vehicle box will hold everything you need. 

Documents

For a long trip, the driver must carry a passport, local driver’s license or international driving license, visa, medical insurance, and print of the agreement for hiring cars from a premium BMW or Range Rover rental company.
